Peter Lemon takes the stage at CalCIMA Elevate conference

CEO Peter Lemon delivered the keynote address at CalCIMA's recent Elevate 2026 Conference, sharing the stage with leaders from some of California's top construction materials companies.
His message: the most important leadership skill in our industry isn't technical expertise or a master plan. It's curiosity and the willingness to say yes to opportunities you don't fully understand yet.
Drawing from his own journey at Graniterock, from intern to CEO, Peter walked the audience through the moments that shaped how he leads today. He also shared a practical four-quadrant framework for understanding where work in any organization truly lives and how leaders can keep moving things in the right direction.
