Poster Contest Entries To Be Displayed At The California State Capitol
The California Trucking Association (CTA) is pleased to announce that the posters submitted this year for the CTA annual poster contest have been selected to be displayed inside the State Capitol.
The California Trucking Association sponsors a Statewide Elementary and Special Education School Poster Contest. The annual poster contest began in 1995, to demonstrate to students how much truck transportation affects their lives every day of the year. Throughout the years the theme has focused on how essential trucking is to California. The schools that elect to participate in the contest each receive a donation and the first and second place winners are acknowledged in our monthly magazine and now will have their artwork on display in the State Capitol.
CTA members in regions throughout the state, nominate two elementary and special education classes to participate each year. CTA supplies each chosen class with all the materials they need. The 2008 contest theme is “Trucks of the Future.” Members of CTA visit the schools to acknowledge the participating classes and also give them the opportunity to ask questions about trucking, learn about safety tips and even see trucks up close.
CTA has scheduled its Legislative Action Day for April 1st, 2008 and is pleased to announce that this day will also mark the first day for the poster display that will run thought April 11th of this year. CTA members and representatives are coordinating with the schools to visit the Capitol and see the posters on display.
The California Trucking Association promotes leadership in the California motor carrier industry, advocates sound transportation policies to all levels of government, and works to maintain a safe and efficient California transportation goods movement system.
