Graniterock’s Design Center Hosts Exhibit of Local Artist’s Work

Artwork by Cupertino artist Jane Ferguson will be on display at Graniterock’s Cupertino Design Center beginning July 22, 2010. The exhibit will run through October 22, 2010. There will be a public Artist’s Wine and Cheese Reception at the Design Center on August 27, 2010, from 5:00–8:00 PM.

Graniterock’s Cupertino Design Center is a new venue for exhibits of work created by local artists. The Design Center, opened in the fall of 2005, is a showroom that features innovations in natural stone products for homes and landscapes and caters to homeowners, designers, architects and contractors. Beginning in July 2010, the Center’s residential style living areas will showcase artwork by area artists.

The first featured artist is Jane Ferguson of Cupertino, whose brilliantly colored works in watercolor and mixed media have been acquired by private collectors in the United States and Europe. Jane was born and raised in England, where she qualified as a nurse and midwife. She moved to California in 1994 with her husband and two sons, became a full time artist, and has been exhibiting her work in solo and group shows throughout the Bay Area since 1998. Graniterock’s Cupertino Design Center is located at 1505 S. De Anza Blvd., Cupertino, CA 95014. Hours of operation are 7:30am–5:00pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00am–5:00pm on Saturday.

Graniterock was founded on Valentine’s Day, 1900, when its first operation, the A.R. Wilson Quarry, was opened in Aromas, and soon became a heavy engineering contractor. Its California Contractor’s License #22 demonstrates how long the Company has been in business. Graniterock has recently opened a new Branch location in Cupertino on South De Anza Boulevard supplying construction building and landscaping materials. There are already plant or branch locations in Aromas, Felton, Hollister, Monterey Peninsula, Oakland, Redwood City, Salinas, Santa Cruz, San Jose, and So. San Francisco. Graniterock’s Pavex Construction Division operates from area offices in Redwood City, San Jose, Oakland, and Watsonville, and performs large work such as highway or runway expansion projects, as well as commercial and residential projects. The Company’s Corporate Offices have been located in Watsonville since 1900.
