Graniterock People Contribute to Katrina Relief

Local Company Sends 24,408 in Support to Fellow Americans of the Gulf Coast

In addition to annual financial support for local community support agencies each year, Graniterock People have responded to the national need by making additional contributions to a number of agencies providing much needed relief to the devastated area along the Gulf Coast. Graniterock People and the company have donated $12,204; the Company matched employee contributions dollar-for-dollar for a total contribution of $24,408.

Additionally Graniterock will be conducting a mass collection for the Salvation Army on Wednesday, September 21st at the Corporate Office to benefit families left in need by Hurricane Katrina. Many of these families have lost everything and need help to start a new life. Graniterock People will take this opportunity to go though closets and donate clothing, toys, stuffed animals, household items, blankets, towels, diapers, and school supplies.

Graniterock is a private, family owned company that was founded on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1900. Graniterock has operations in Watsonville, Santa Cruz, Seaside, Salinas,Hollister, Aromas, Felton, San Jose, Cupertino, Redwood City and South San Francisco. The company supplies construction materials and its Pavex Construction Division is a significant regional heavy engineering contractor building roadways, airports and private commercial and residential projects.
