Graniterock Hosts 2011 Signature Of Excellence Awards

Company Honors 10 Local Architects and Builders

Graniterock recognizes the great importance of outstanding architectural design and construction that mirrors the natural wonders of the Monterey Bay Area. Graniterock’s Signature of Excellence Awards honor the Architects, Designers, Builders, Landscapers, Contractors, and Owners of these remarkable projects.

On July 9, 2011 Graniterock honored seven projects voted on by the general public as the best in each category (Commercial, Residential Under 3,500 sq. ft., Residential Over 3,500 sq. ft., Remodel Under 2,000 sq. ft., Remodel Over 2,000 sq. ft., and Outdoor Living Over $20,000).

An Honor Award was awarded to a General Building Contractor that has made significant contributions in the fields of construction, management, and advanced technical use of materials and industry leadership in the Monterey Bay Area. A Merit Award was awarded to an Architect with an ability to tell a story of excellence beyond illustration, reflecting the variety of forces that shape a building and ability to do so through timeless architectural design. A Sustainable Design Award was awarded to a project submitted into any of the categories that showed exemplary sustainable design strategies.

A Best in Show award was also given to a project that received the most votes from all categories from Graniterock Monterey Peninsula Branch Team Member’s votes. All 33 members of Graniterock’s Seaside Branch reviewed the entries and voted on one project to be honored.
