Graniterock Announces Independence Day Superstar Entertainment

Pops & Rocks Independence Day Festival Concert and Fireworks

Special Headline Guest: Kenny Loggins

WATSONVILLE—Kenny Loggins, the hugely successful singer, songwriter, and performer will be headlining this year’s POPS & ROCKS INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVAL this Fourth of July at Graniterock’s A.R. Wilson Quarry in Aromas. Designed to honor our Nation’s birth, concert goers will enjoy a barbecued dinner with Dixieland entertainment; Loggins’ concert; a fabulous aerial fireworks display; and dancing to the Joe Sharino Band.

There are certain well-recognized voices in popular music that can be identified as soon as a song starts—these performers are immediately familiar musical legends, inextricably part of our America’s pop music culture. Singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins possesses such a voice, and for over three decades he’s been inviting listeners to experience music that reaches the heart and the senses with disarming candor, authentic emotion and rich lyrical and melodic resonance. From Loggins & Messina classics like “Danny’s Song” and “House at Pooh Corner,” to signature solo tracks including “Celebrate Me Home” and the GRAMMY®-winning “This Is It,” Kenny Loggins’ broad and growing body of work speaks volumes with its warmth and directness.

In the 80s, Loggins became more famous than ever as the king of movie theme songs, thanks to movie hits with Loggins’ songs including “I’m Alright” (from Caddyshack), “Footloose” (from Footloose), “Danger Zone” (from Top Gun), and “Nobody’s Fool” (from Caddyshack II).

The always-popular Joe Sharino Band, winner of fifteen “Best Band Awards” in the Bay Area will also perform. Joe will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the fun-filled evening. Enjoy an innovative, electronically choreographed score to a spectacular aerial fireworks display after sundown. The Joe Sharino Band will provide rock ’n’ roll dance music after the fireworks until 10:30pm.

Proceeds from the POPS & ROCKS Independence Day Festival benefit the participating community organizations and local United Way agencies.
