Job Duties
The PCC professional will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the day to day activities of the PCC group supporting internal and external customers. Individual will be responsible for supporting PCC group Baseline Goals (i.e., product quality performance and materials research goals) and the goals of the entire Research Technical Services department. He/she will provide direct support and advice for all contractor and architect-customer needs and requirements on a daily basis, and the maintenance of all PCC quality systems including compliance with CCRL requirements (i.e., laboratory and testing standards for private laboratories established by NIST). In addition, the PCC professional will be responsible for the development of PCC knowledge and skills of Graniterock people and customers through effective coaching, conducting scheduled training seminars, and written communications.
The Director, Concrete Products, shares responsibility for the overall operation of Research Technical Services with the Director, Road Materials Products. Individual would initially have 2 to 3 direct reports, but would coordinate overall RTS activities in partnership cooperation with the Director, Road Materials Products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Skills: Knowledgeable and experienced Portland cement concrete (PCC) professional to lead high quality, customer-centered PCC group.
- Professional level understanding of PCC materials principles and physical properties.
- Demonstrated expertise in PCC mix design for all market segments and applications.
- PCC troubleshooting expert, including jobsite evaluation of deficient concrete areas.
- Working knowledge of ACI and CBC specification standards.
- Working knowledge of Caltrans Section 90.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently provide excellent customer service.
- Effective coaching and training skills to support the growth and development of Graniterock people.
- Customer responsive in support of Graniterock Account Managers.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience with a producer of ready-mix concrete or an individual with a technical background from a supplier to the ready-mix industry (such as concrete admixture supplier).
Desired Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Must have valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record.
