The Monterey PeninsulaDesign Village turned into Santa’s workshop Dec. 12 with a steady stream of folksdropping off food, clothing, toys and other items to give the needy this holiday season.

Graniterock, with many team members volunteering time to help, joined KSBW and the Salvation Army’s Share Your Holiday for the fifth year in a row.

Longtime KSBW sportscaster Dennis Lehnen broadcast live from Graniterock’s parking lot, including an interview with Robin Steudler, who coordinated the effort for the Company.

Highlights of the day were pizzas made from scratch by Keith Severson, George Rodriguezdressed as Santa Claus and a visit from local hot rod club, Gold Coast Rods.

Volunteers, including several students from CSU Monterey Bay, cheered each driver as they entered the parking lot to make a donation.

The event was a huge success due to many Graniterock People braving the rain.
