Pit & Quarry Names Graniterock Producer Of The Year

Cleveland, Ohio, July 29, 2000—Pit & Quarry magazine has named Graniterock, Watsonville, California, as its 2000 Producer of the Year. The award was made as part of the magazine’s Pit & Quarry “Success Story” awards program.

“Graniterock exemplifies every good quality you would expect from a world-class aggregates producer,” said Mark S. Kuhar, editor-in-chief of the magazine. “The company has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to professionalism in operations, technology, training, safety, community relations and the environment. We’re proud to name Graniterock as our 2000 Producer of the Year.”

Graniterock also celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2000. “It is fitting that Graniterock has received this honor to cap its 100th year of operation,” Kuhar said. A profile of Graniterock appears in the August 2000 issue of Pit & Quarry.

Pit & Quarry’s “Success Story” awards program is now in its fourth year.
