Local Company Hosts 10K to Benfit Aromas School

Graniterock's Rock & Run in the A.R. Wilson Quarry

Graniterock’s ROCK & RUN in the A.R. Wilson Quarry benefiting the Aromas School went off Sunday, September 17, 2006 at 8 am featuring a tough, beautiful 10k Run and a brisk 5K Walk through the historic granite quarry. Over 70 participants helped raise more than $1,500 for the Aromas School.

Jon Erskine won the race with an amazing time of 37 minutes running a pace just over 6 minutes per mile on this very difficult course. Christina Price of Carmel won the women’s division. Each of the top finishers was awarded a unique trophy made of materials from the A.R. Wilson Quarry.

Graniterock and the Aromas Home and School Club are planning to host this event on an annual basis and welcome runners and walkers of all ages to come and enjoy a unique quarry setting while raising money to make a great school better.
