John Franich Elected To AGC Board

Local Company Vice-President Selected

Nine Contractor and seven Specialty Contractor and Associate members have been newly elected to serve on the Associated General Contractors of California 2001 State Board of Directors. John Franich, Vice President of Graniterock and the Pavex Construction Division General Manager, was elected to a three-year term.

John Franich is a Watsonville native and has been in the construction industry for 20 years. He has been with Graniterock for 10 years and has worked in the entire western region. He is married and has three children. He enjoys dirt bikes, mountain biking, tennis and skiing with his children. Camping is a highlight for John and his family.

Graniterock has been headquartered in Watsonville, California, since its founding in 1900. The Company’s employees work in branch locations in South San Francisco, Redwood City, San Jose, Salinas, Monterey, Watsonville, Felton and Santa Cruz. Graniterock supplies construction materials including ready-mix concrete, hot mix asphalt, building materials, landscaping supplies, rock, sand and gravel. The Company’s Pavex Construction Division is a significant regional heavy engineering contractor building roadways, airports and private commercial and residential projects. Graniterock received the 1992 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the 1994 Governor’s Golden State Quality Award.
