Graniterock Branch Reaches Safety Milestone

Local Firm's South San Francisco Location Passes Nine Years Accident-Free

May 8, 1999 marks the ninth accident-free year for Graniterock’s So. San Francisco Branch. That means no lost time injury accidents since May 8, 1990! This tremendous safety record is truly a team effort! Frank Garcia and Eddie Dupee Sr. have been at the branch since the start of the ‘streak.’ The Team credits this accomplishment to the professional care given to observing the practices of each team member. “If we see someone doing something wrong, we tell them. There are no hurt feelings.”

Graniterock puts “Safety Before All Else” in both its corporate objectives and in practice as exemplified by the So. San Francisco Branch. This year’s safety motto is “Zero in on Safety,” alluding to the zero accident focus. This milestone represents a team operating safely for over 50,000 payroll hours producing over 1.8 million tons of Hot Mix Asphalt! Safe working environments in a field that is historically deemed unsafe makes this feat even more amazing. It is a testament to the dedication to safety that Graniterock People practice every day.
