Graniterock Bestows Award of Excellence to the City of Watsonville

Watsonville Public Works Team Earns Accolades

Graniterock will recognize the outstanding work of the City of Watsonville Public Works Team with an Award of Excellence Plaque at the Annual Pavement EXPO to be held at the 114 year old Company's A. R. Wilson Quarry in Aromas on Thursday, April 3, 2014. The award is in recognition of the City's 2013 Pavement Maintenance Program, which was funded through Gas Tax Receipts and a grant through Cal Recycle for the use of recycled automobile tires. The City also incorporated the use of locally available materials and resources as part of their maintenance strategy to protect their infrastructure investment and to keep the motoring public safe and moving freely about the City.

The City of Watsonville Public Works Team was honored for their excellent planning in specifying innovative use of the latest best practices in pavement maintenance strategies on various roads throughout the City. This work was done to the highest standards in the industry, while also maintaining a safe construction environment for the motoring public. The City Staff and their contractor consistently showed pride in their workmanship and in the City's 2013 Pavement Maintenance Program.
