Quarry Materials Testing Engineer Intern

Job Duties

  • Sample and monitor Quarry material to verify placed earthen fill will have suitable moisture properties for a stable embankment.
  • Monitor moisture content of excavated and deposited earthen material utilizing a variety of test equipment such as a nuclear density gauge, oven, and microwave oven.
  • Take daily multiple samples for testing and evaluation from excavation points as well as placement area.
  • Perform sieve analysis of excavated and deposited earthen material.
  • Safely perform work around heavy mobile and large stationary material handling equipment utilized in a mining environment.
  • Document, analyze, and report findings to Project Superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Current Civil, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering student, Sophomore or Junior level.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, team player, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD skills. Ability to work independently and to demonstrate self-leadership skills required.

Other Comments

Must have valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record.
