Quarry Materials Testing Engineer Intern

Sample and monitor Quarry material to verify placed earthen fill will have suitable moisture properties for a stable embankment.
Monitor moisture content of excavated and deposited earthen material utilizing a variety of test equipment such as a nuclear density gauge, oven, and microwave oven.
Take daily multiple samples for testing and evaluation from excavation points as well as placement area.
Perform sieve analysis of excavated and deposited earthen material.
Safely perform work around heavy mobile and large stationary material handling equipment utilized in a mining environment.
Document, analyze, and report findings to Project Superintendent.

Education: Current Civil, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering student, Sophomore or Junior level.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, team player, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD skills. Ability to work independently and to demonstrate self-leadership skills required.

Must have valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record.
