Job Duties
Responsible for private/public estimating of the following: SWPPP, Earthwork, and mass grading, base rock and asphalt paving, underground utilities, minor concrete, small concrete structures; network with owners, subcontractors and suppliers; negotiate prices and organize bids; prepare project schedules as function of preparing bid. Position requires your ability to work with estimators, estimating staff and engineers in a collaborative manner that perpetuates growth for you and team members (mentorship). This position requires your ability to work constructively with team members in Graniterock materials divisions. Support the Company’s nine Corporate Objectives and participate in meeting and exceeding Pavex division Baseline Goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Spreadsheet and word processing skills; HCSS Estimating Software, Primavera and/or SureTrak; excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines; ability to work as a team member; good written and oral communication skills.
- Experience: 8 to 10 years Large Commercial or Heavy Public construction estimating involving a large diverse group of varying projects with values from $1M to $25M. Design Build project experience a plus.
Desired Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Skills: Familiarity with AGTEK software.
- Experience: Heavy prime contract estimating, knowledge of CalTrans, wide range of equipment familiarity.

Must have valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record.
